090: Date With Purga
02122007: I'm going to start something new here. Instead of simply remarking that I have nothing to put here, I'll put a bit of information about the people, places, and things appearing in the comic. Most of the characters have pretty elaborate histories, and their world is far more fleshed-out than it appears, and the only way all of it could be included in the comic itself was if I updated everyday with about six pages of material. I'll do it based on who's in the comic, so things tie in with each other. Let's start with Mike P. Mike P has no real memories of his early life, his earliest one being sitting in the Resort's main building while several robots zoomed around taking care of things. The second memory he has was learning that the Resort belonged to him. He went to elementary school in Moleside, but after ten years of schooling (not to mention the ridicule and whatnot that comes with being radically different from the rest of the class) he decided to stay at the Resort and be tutored by a robot. (Note: From here, we're getting into Retro AOMP territory. What follows is a summary of those events). At this point, four other creatures came to him and wished to battle to the death on the Resort grounds, having been told Mike condoned such things. Mike refused, but consented to have the four duke it out anyway, just not to the death. After the match, the two winners left the Resort while the two losers and three other guests (named Ned, Nill, Bob, Joe, and our friend Pikapunk) stayed at the Resort. Shortly after, Pikapunk became a vampire and slaughtered everyone but Mike P and Bob, who managed to defeat him and save the day! Mike P lost his hat in the process, and when he went to find it, he met Jerald, Purga the Demon-Thing, and the enigmatic blue Mike P doppelganger. Mike returned to the Resort, but consumed with wanderlust took to the skies on an interstellar flying disc which was among his belongings, and during this time he met Cruton. Mike P returned to the Resort, and after some rogue Eskimos attacked one of the guests (a warrior named Milos), he reunited with Cruton and the pair set off to avenge Milos. The journey took Mike P to both Mexico and Canada, and he did such things as unmask a fake bull and die. After their quest was done, Mike P convinced Cruton to help him steal Easter from Moleside, a caper which ended in tragedy. He then returned home after being banished from the town, and just sort of shlepped around until Purga broke the A-Hole. Well, other than some behind-the-scenes stuff about Mike P, I'd say that pretty much covers his backstory. I plan on going over his early years at some point in the future. I hope you enjoyed this! Tomorrow: Metallic Spheroid, maybe. |
